Proposal at Sunrise
Witness an emotional marriage proposal documented by professional photographer Chris Chromey. Brian hired Chromey Creative to secretly document him propose to his girlfriend Cass at sunrise. The couple camped on a mountain top along the Appalachian Trail in Madison County, NC. Brian proposed to Cass at sunrise the next day and Chris captured the experience with multiple video cameras and a drone. With breathtaking 360 views of the Blue Ridge mountains and the Pisgah National Forest, the scene could not be more picturesque. Watch the story unfold in this 7 minute video. -

Life, Love, and Passion
Artist Jonas Gerard painted a 30-foot mural in front of a live audience at the River Arts District Spring Studio Stroll, May 9, 2015 in Asheville, NC. The mural has been named 'Life, Love and Passion,' and is permanently installed near his gallery on the exterior of the Riverview Station Artist Building. Video shot and edited by Chris Chromey for Jonas Gerard Fine Art. -

Passionately Alive
During the River Arts District 2016 Fall Studio Stroll in Asheville, NC, Jonas painted a 24-foot abstract mural in his spontaneous style. The public was invited to watch the expressive artist at work and there was a full house at Jonas’ studio at Riverview Station. This new large scale mural, which is Jonas' second to date, was successfully installed at the CarePartners Health Services therapy pool in January, 2017. Installation of this mural realizes Jonas' vision; to bring the healing power of art into a space where people are working hard to improve their lives. Touched by his own experiences with pool therapy, Jonas felt inspired to improve the healing environment in the most effective way that he knows, by transforming a space with art. The mural is titled 'Passionately Alive.' -
Go Inside the GeoDome
On loan from NOAA, the GeoDome is a three dimensional immersive visualization environment, where 21st Century immersive 3D visualization can be projected inside of an inflatable dome. The GeoDome will be available to students at the Discovery Academy as a learning tool with multiple programs that bring in real time data from NOAA, NASA, Google Earth etc. These can be combined across the curricula to create, view, and share collaborative or individual projects within the dome or to share across the system. Usually 20 minute presentations are followed by a short question and answer session. -
